It just goes to show that if you use your head and there is a little team work there is almost no limit to what can be accomplished. With the opportunity to host the Telus Cup it looked like the Rambler Rodeo and Trade Show was a no go. Then it was realised that they could go with the rodeo a week ahead and then all it needed was to work out the details. One of those details was getting a good working surface for the rodeo and still having first rate ice for the opening game on Thursday. The solution was amazingly simple. A matrix of wood |

shavings and straw was applied to the ice surface and frozen in place with a light flood. Then the whole ice surface was covered in about eight to ten inches in mulch producing one of the best competition floors the rodeo folks will have to work on for the whole season. The pictures above were taken at coffee time Monday morning. The mulch had been removed and half the surface plained down with the ice |

ready for the Western Regional "AAA" championship tournament. The whole town has got into the spirit of the Telus Cup with Trojan displays in every business in town. Only a few are shown here but some are really elaborate with pictures of every player on the Trojan team on some windows and Sea of Red "t" shirts on sale in some retail outlets. The web site for the games and online scores is now posted and Tisdale is ready for the competition. |
