Trojans Defeat Hounds 5 - 3

FTLComm - Tisdale
November 27, 1999

Tisdale's Midget "AAA" Trojans are into a dandy of a season with having lost only four games so far in the season. The Trojans play in the typical style of Tisdale hockey teams with hard skating and an emphasis on combination passing plays.

Their game Friday night against the Hounds from Notre Dame was one of those 60% games where both teams would get energetic for some of the game then for some of the game just drift along. Though Tisdale was able to

dominate play, keeping control
of the puck and spending most of the game in the Hounds end they lacked success in getting the puck in the net. Three Hound penalties in the first period and Nathan Deobald kept the Trojans off the score board.

Fans considered the two goals by the Hounds in the first period as flukes but in each case the Trojan defense succumbed to one man quick rushes by the Hounds to put in two goals.

The second period had about six minutes of real hockey
and ended with the Hounds
short handed with another minor penalty but to begin the third period Tisdale was in a three to one hockey game.

Deobald's goal tending was thwarting the Trojans plays and for the first three minutes of the third period the Trojans turned up the heat a bit. All in all the third period was excellent hockey and by midway in the period it was a tied game. With a tied situation the Hounds had a
brief minute or two when they
picked up their pace but the Trojans were in charge and a point shot from captain Lance Wood was deflected into the net with only seconds to go. The Hounds pulled their goalie and a Trojan found the empty net from the red line and the fat lady sang.

A good crowd of loyal fans were on hand to cheer on their team and help out with fund raising projects with items from the promotions table.
