Northern Steel Road
The road way which is the northern edge of the town of Tisdale is now more than a year old and was built to reduce the wear and tear on the street passing in front of the Tisdale hospital. This quiet little gravel road is used by the tank manufacturer, Northern Steel Industries, now owned by Westeel, to transport partly completed products from their old facility to the specialised plant that was once Fripp paper products.

The picture above was taken today, Wednesday, April 6 and the piles of excavated land on the left hand side of the image is the incompleted development for a new subdivision of housing for the community. The water and sewer installation with storm sewers was begun late last fall and will resume as soon as things have dried up enough for work to continue.

The picture on the right was taken on Friday afternoon and shows the north side of the road and the neighbouring field.
