Tisdale’s new campground is pretty much underwater as the field to the east of it is almost free of snow. The high temperature over night and the wind turned winter fields into spring fields with water everywhere sitting atop the frozen ground.

The campground is quickly draining into the ditch and across the road into the DogHide which is just barely flowing.

These images were taken around 2:30 this fine sunny Sunday afternoon and as you can see our early bird geese are back for their summer stay. These summer residents know the timeline pretty well and want to have those eggs and goslings as soon as possible so they are ready for the fall flight back south for the winter.

These pictures really show how little snow there is left in the open fields.

As usual the Riverside Golf Course is quickly filling up. The DogHide is flowing but the water is rushing into the course which rapidly becomes a catch basin before the river gets a move on. There is still a little more than a foot of freeboard before the water breaches the road beside the course.

With temperatures slightly lower over the next couple of days the rate of accumulation is not expected to slow down since the water is on the way of of the fields with very little left still to melt.
.
Without addition precipitation this looks like it is going to be a short run off period this spring and it will only take a couple of weeks of drying before the tractors and seeders begin their annual march across the open country.
