Interesting load of lumber, these look like cores from a plywood plant. Each log has been spun and layers removed to create the matrix used in the making of plywood. Some large logs are included in this load which were probably rejected for some reason. When this load was first noticed parked at a restaurant Monday night it immediately reminded me of wood produced in the Yukon to make log houses. Machined logs were turned off a mill there so that they were uniform in size and roundness for making "Panabode" and similar piled wood structures. These logs will probably be used to create a few core 2 x 4s then the remaining material will be used to make paper products. (Save a tree read your news online) |
