Please join me in taking a simple action for peace.

Together with thousands of folks around the world, I'm putting a light in my window. If enough of us do the same, we can send a strong message of continued opposition to war and continued hope for peace.

Hey, you got that grow light on that pot plant, right? Move it to the window! Nobody is going to complain about dual purpose efficiency.

MoveOn's keeping a count of the people who are joining in this simple act, from places all over the globe. Please sign up now at Windowlight.

There is no surprise that the US War Machine now announces that its invasion of Iraq will take longer than the government seemed to lead people to believe. I suspect that this was very much a strategy of the Yankees all along.

The world's Super Power, aka Pax-Americana, knows full well it out-guns Iraq in every possible way including Weopons of Mass Destruction. What better opportunity to test out those new war machines developed and continuously tweaked since the the Gulf War.

I think we would be more than naive (Like the talking heads pretend to be.) to believe there is any urgency on the part of the US. On the contrary, where else in the world could they find such a real live laboratory? By might, alone, they own it. It was a laboratory carefully and expressly created for the purpose by propaganda and fear mongering.

Here is a simple act you can participate in to somehow get your voice heard. Go to the Citizens' Declaration site and register confirming your agreement with this simple statement rejecting the policy and actions of the government of the United States of America.

A CITIZENS' DECLARATION

As a US-led invasion of Iraq begins,
we, the undersigned citizens of many countries,
reaffirm our commitment to addressing international
conflicts through the rule of law and the United Nations.

By joining together across countries and continents,
we have emerged as a new force for peace.
As we grieve for the victims of this war,
we pledge to redouble our efforts to put an end to the Bush
Administration's doctrine of pre-emptive attack and
the reckless use of military power.

  PS: One more thing:

What with all the sadness and trauma going
on in the world at the moment, it is worth
reflecting on the death of a very important person
which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry La Prise, the man who wrote "The
Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at age
93. The most traumatic part for his family
was getting him into the coffin.

They put his left leg in... and then the
trouble started
