This ceramony began with the mother and father of the groom escorting him to meet the bride and her parents where greetings were exchanged and the bride and groom than walked the last steps toward the front of the church together then were seated. Cheryl Tradewell provided the keyboard accompanyment that set the atmosphere for the event and the brilliant voice of Megan Fournier fill the huge cathedral with song. Maryanne Samida, Mary Orr and Lynnette Purda each lent their voices to readings as Father Maurice Fiolleau presided over the very happy proceedings.
The marriage of a young man and woman is important and with the capabilities of this age everyone wants to preserve the event on film, video tape, digital cameras even while a remarkably unobtrusive professional photographer captured each element for the bride and groom.

Ria and Darcy Fitzgerald
FTLComm - Prince Albert - Sunday September 2, 2001
Competitive athletes who met over gruelling cycling events decided to combine forces as Darcy Fitzgerald and Darcy Boyko were joined by relatives and friends to seal the committment to one another at 1:00 Saturday afternoon at Prince Albert’s Sacred Heart Cathedral.

The importance our society places on having a stable and positive life long relationship is certainly one of the reasons young people prefer to follow this time honoured tradition of a formal wedding and most couples opt for a full church wedding that is supported and part of their spiritual as well as their social life.

The beauty and grandeur of Sacred Heart Cathedral becomes a vital part of starting a life together in such a special place. The implicit and compelling implication that any ceramony conducted in such a setting is important and a matter of great consequence.

The Cathedral is itself in the shape of a cross with magnificent soaring arches and pillar that both open and fill the space elevating that thoughts of all who enter while the alcoves speak mystery and the unknown.
