Snow is a sneaky kind of stuff, no big rattle of it falling on the roof, no gushing down the rain spout and without a wind it just settles. And, settle it did over night so that there was about a foot of the stuff, fluffy and light on the driveway and half a foot on the step, I had cleaned it late in the afternoon but even then this morning I had to push snow with the door to open it when I ventured outside.
Those folks in the snow removal business were a happy lot today but the town crew were up to their necks in it as they scrambled to try and get the streets passible and they did a fair job on the main streets as they piled it up down the centre of the streets and blew it into the trucks. but many side streets are getting pretty narrow almost to the choking point.
Fortunately we did not have a wind with this application of solid percipitation, otherwise we would have the stuff over the rooves.
Below are some images taken around town today as the community went about its business, albiet just a bit slower than usual.
