Near Raymore Thursday morning
January cold snap

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, January 18, 2008

After weeks in the negative teens it was a bit shocking to have to look so low on the thermometer to find the level just below -30º this morning. Actually that is pretty much normal weather, but then one never knows any more what is normal. Today the late afternoon temperatures in Manitoba were in the high negative twenties while it was only -10º in Watson Lake Yukon.

However we will all cope with this even though it is expected to last through the weekend. Each day is just a little bit longer and the sun is sneaking just a little bit higher into the southern sky each day. Winter's back isn't broken but we are about half way through.
