At some point we all know we have had enough of a good thing and its time to move on. No, I am not talking about politics or the election but fall. There is no question that the fall of 2015 has been remarkable as it just went on and on. We lost the coloured leaves in October but on the Thanksgiving weekend folks were wearing short pants as they worked on building our new deck. Even last week I worked outside Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon cleaning up the remains of the old deck and though I had the luxury of a little fire in our outdoor fire box I did not get cold.

I was surprised at the amount of coloured leaves that were in Ottawa at the time of the swearing in of the new Prime Minister and Cabinet on November 4 but Ken Jones told me that he was in the Halifax area and the leaves were putting on a marvellous show.

But all good things come to an end and the long mild fall of 2015 vanished as winter swept through Saskatchewan on Wednesday of this week bringing with it snow, blowing snow and fairly cold temperatures although still in the high area of average for this time of the year. This weekend we can expect to see the temperature above the freezing mark on Saturday afternoon and right around freezing during the CFL play off games Sunday afternoon.

In case you will be unable to watch the games Sunday I am picking Hamilton to win over Ottawa and Calgary should vanquish Edmonton later in the afternoon. Next weekend is Grey Cup time in Winnipeg and Hamilton looks good to win over Calgary. However, just to hedge my bet if Edmonton were to beat Calgary I would expect Edmonton to defeat Hamilton.
