A Saskatchewan Way of Justice:leading by the nose till we are stabbed in the back |
||

public relation crap | We have written several articles about the kind of rotten |
|
justice system(1) we have and I am getting tired of listening
to the public relation crap portraying the police as 99.9%(2)
clean or immune from political and economic influences.
We have a police force in Saskatoon which has a
documented record of police wrongdoing and brutality and
yet today's National Post expresses the view that "the actions
of a few men in uniform distort the policies of a nation(3)."
The article "They Stand on Guard(4)" by Timothy Shire,
explains the level of concerns we all have about the police
and the anxiety we experience in feeling uncertain about the protection provided by the same
police. | ||
corrupted and racist police force | In Saskatchewan, we have a corrupted and racist police force along with a corrupted
government. The relationship between a corrupted police force and a corrupted government
is a deadly combination and it is causing social and economic problems. After the many
incidents of dumping people in the cold at the outskirts of Saskatoon by the police, and
after the many complains and demonstrations against police brutality, we have another
new embarrassing incident where a retired police sergeant, Robert Doig, charges a
Saskatoon policeman of trading sexual favours with women in lieu of arrest.
"street walk" | The RCMP is not making visible progress in the investigation about allegations that
Saskatoon police would drive people out of town and let them either die or walk back in
the cold. At the same time, Robert Doig has not been happy with the investigation related
to the sexual misconduct of a policeman and last February he sent letters of concerns to
police Chief Dave Scott, city councillors and Justice Minister Chris Axworthy. The sexual
misconduct investigation was labelled as "street talk" by the Saskatoon police, and we
hope that the RCMP will not label as "street walk" the dumping of people at the outskirts
of Saskatoon. | ||
he can take his concerns elsewhere | People who become vocal in expressing their intolerance for the ongoing social corruption
must pay a heavy price, and one price is being subjected to intimidation practices by the
so called authorities. Therefore, few days ago, retired policeman Robert Doig has been
arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer after he approached some women
for determining of any other sexual assault by the police(5). As consolation, Honourable
Chris Axworthy has advised Doig that he can take his concerns elsewhere(6). "Mr. Doig
has a couple of options," Axworthy says. "He can either ask the ombudsman to look into
the matter and make recommendations to me, or he can apply to the Court of Queen's
Bench and have the matter reviewed by a judge." So, instead to reward people who are
sincere in expressing their fears and anxieties, we have cabinet ministers giving us free
advices, and taking us by the nose till we are stabbed in the back(7) .
