Tisdale Community Gardens

Tisdale - Thursday, July 17, 2003 - By: Jacki Abraham
Our collective kitchen group is once again involved in gardening - this is the 3rd year for most of the participants. We have six families involved in gardening at two locations, the northwest side of Sasko Park Lodge and the east side of the Salvation Army church. The land for these gardens is donated each year and the Tisdale & Area Community Action Cooperative Ltd. (TACACL) looks after getting it worked and subsidizing seeds and bedding plants for the gardeners.

Last week we installed signs at our two locations. These signs were designed and handpainted by Curtis Abbott, a collective kitchen and community garden member. Curtis donated his time and effort last July and did an excellent job!

The people in the pictures are some of our gardeners. The photo taken at the Salvation Army plot is of our artist, Curtis.
