A hole lot bigger

FTLComm - Tisdale - Thursday, September 30, 2004

This project,
begun earlier this week has been steadily moving along. Mid morning it was looking like the area under the concrete (seen here) would be removed by this afternoon and the removal part of the project finished, ready to begin putting in a fabric barrier and filling up the huge cavity that has been created.

One expert explained that sites like this one not only had spills from leaking underground tanks but in the years past used oil was often just tossed onto the ground and frequently made up a major part of the contamination.

The soil samples have been taken throughout this dig and those results will determine the final extent of the hole's size.
