It just wouldn’t be summer without spending a couple of days at Pasquia Regional Park near Carrot River and a couple of days at Nipawin Regional Park. I have to admit, those two are our favourites. Saskatchewan has 45 regional parks, each of them have something special so we will continue to widen our scope each year, but these two are definitely places to return to.

We were at Pasquia for the last to days the pool was open and our grand daughter and her dad enjoyed the great swimming as well as a round of golf.

Our visit to Nipawin was enormously enhanced from last year when the road into the park was definitely a motorhome torture test, but this year, wow, a newly paved road!

Several Regional parks have zip lines where children and adults alike enjoy the experience of going for a ride. The most notable one is at
Valley Regional Park at Rosthern which involves a tower and a long walk back. Below, is a short video illustrating the fun of the Nipawin zip line.

Friday brought us one of the few days this year where we have experienced rain while in the RV. The last experience was over in Minnesota when a nasty thunder shower flooded our site but the rain in Nipawin was much more gentle and we were able to keep on cooking and slip under the awning. I thought perhaps I would share with you this picture of a very old CNR kerosene lantern that travels with us in the motorhome and we fuel it with some fuel that is supposed to ward off nasty insects, but that’s just a rumour.

Saturday we got back to Tisdale and tomorrow, we will join the Good Sam mini-Samboree at
Watrous Regional Park which I have been told is one of the best in the province. Next week we hope to bring you pictures of the park and the event.
