Language Usage
I know you have strong feelings about the use of profanity in English language usage. But I think the use of a word like "fuck" is far less offensive than many other things effected in the media.
When the power brokers of mainstream media fail in their coverage of the important stories of the day, well that is just a 'fucking' shame. The powerful elite that control the media lie. The more absolute the power you can be assured they lie with absolute certainty. Young and old alike feel helpless in the onslaught.
So a word like 'fuck', which will not be printed in mainstream media, remains in the domain of the powerless. It is a code word that reveals the perspective of the writer. That writer remains outside traditional media and therefore may be bringing a new and different interpretation of a story. "Twitter" is all a twitter with words like 'fuck' for that very reason. So if you see 'fuck' in the commentary, be assured it ain't comin' from the power elite. And by god it just might have some value.
The Movie 'Argo'
Ben Affleck and his hollywood buddies didn't let the truth get in the way of a story they wanted to tell. There was a very strong Canadian component to the "real" story but I guess it didn't fit into their movie "Argo", the movie that won the Oscar for best picture on Sunday.
The movie was not a documentary, but it was based on a real piece of history. I wonder why he didn't think accuracy was important?
CNN decided to interview former President Jimmy Carter, about the movie. He was the US President during this stage of the Iranian Revolution. What he has to say about who were the real hereos is very interesting.
