Each year the Tisdale Ramblers Rodeo and Trade show signals the end of winter, well at least that usually is the case, but just like last winter this one is overstaying its welcome. But that did not dampen the spirits of this year's event. We got to the RECPlex to take in the Trade Show about an hour after it opened and there were lots of people on hand touring the displays and visiting with each other and the folks at each of the booths.

In the main lobby there was a booth to promote the concept of quitting smoking and across from it the Tisdale museum had a great display of a remarkable Chevy engine that was in cars from 1915 - 22. This model 490 engine sold for $490 in 1915, or about the same price as a whole model "T" Ford. The four cylinder engine was 171 cubic inches and developed 26 horsepower. It's great to see something General Motors made that hasn't been recalled.

There is nothing usual about the Ramblers Trade Show, each year the displays are different and there is lots to see and loads of give away items. The Beeland Co-op is celebrating its 75th anniversary and has an outstanding display of pictures and recognition of the past achievements. After eating my excellent pulled pork sandwich I took a few minutes to look over the display.

Both local and out of town businesses have displays that cover the activities and the major business of this community. Below is a sample of the 68 pictures selected for this story with the hope that will give you an idea of what this year's show is like.

The young people at the top of this page and at the bottom made a great picture but I really don't know what these super heroes are all about.
