Eight ender
Tisdale - Thursday, February 9, 2012
by: Lorraine WisserA once in a lifetime experience took place this past weekend at the Tisdale Community Curling Club.
During the annual Ladies bonspiel, the Lorraine Wisser rink were able to score an eight ender. Something that has not occurred in Tisdale since 1980 (at the old rink).
With theee points required to win the game, the team was actually unaware that making history was a possibility, until all the spectators started pounding on the window and someone ran out to insure that the skip throw her last rock, which nestled onto her other rocks for a count of eight.
In the picture above is the team: Nancy McPhee, Tracy Tarrant, Kim McLean and Lorraine Wisser looking on their "house of yellow".
This accomplishment will be recognized on the Canadian Curling Association website and the team will receive pins and certificates.
After winning this game the did end up winning the Third event as well.
