Saturday Morning At the Northern Championship

FTLComm - Tisdale - January 20, 2001

These pictures were well into the first game Saturday morning as three of the four games were fairly one sided but this game saw these two skips duelling in a seesaw game that had seen them trade point right from the very beginning.

The draw is shown on this page and to help you find your way around it you might want to refer back to the team rosters shown on Wednesday.

The teams had taken time off last night for a banquet and this morning it was down to serious business.
Th serious nature of the competition is illustrated by the level of officiating which was commented upon in our story yesterday and as you can see above one watcher certainly looks the part of a SWAT team member. Besides hog line judges and shot timers, there are scoring people for each house to record the location of each rock just in case a stone is moved and needs to be relocated. In addition there are several officials who stroll around looking . . . well official.
