Andrea broke trail and set a blistering pace. Too fast actually as the group asked her to slow down several times. When she leads she moves like a girl possessed and pushes herself too hard to obtain an unknown goal in the shortest possible
time. But we learned that when you have to walk and climb all day you must set a pace that will allow for this. Conservation of energy is very important, first to allow you to move all day and second to allow reserves to be drawn upon if an emergency should arise. As each day sees us walking for between 6 and 8 hours in all conceivable weather conditions, this has turned into a fundamentally important consideration.
