A letter addressed to NDP campaign manager, Dale Schmeichel

Two things are pathetic;
Lingenfelter's leadership and your unrealistic-claims-of-success campaign.

I hope you, and your like, who have influenced the affairs of the
New Democratic Party for much too long, will now quietly seep into oblivion.  We, a civilized people, cannot impose punishment on you that might rightly be consider. I believe yesterday's colossal loss would be sufficient retribution, but for the fact that you are, in my opinion, too tiresomely arrogant to recognize it as such.

The disservice that has been done to the great and historic contribution of the
NDP to the people of Saskatchewan and Canada will be very difficult to repair.

The loss in '82 should not be equated with last night's embarrassment. The gas tax scheme won that one for the
Tories. The Party's selection, promotion and mindless - very limited - support of Lingenfelter (At last, no more LINK!) lost yesterday's election.  Everybody but you, the caucus, many diehards and your campaign committee, knew he was a looser on his way to a stupendous loss.

During the leadership contest, I and most of my acquaintances, considered
Lingenfelter a disastrous choice for party leader.  We were right.

Now, please, just go away. Do not attempt to influence renewal. I do hold hope for the Party's successful future guided by a much more mature and politically sage organization.

Yours very sincerely without affection,

Edwin Wallace
