The first cross road looked like what I was after and I made the turn of the highway and proceeded. Normally, when out working, I use the FTLComm van with its markings on it, but today I was using Blanch our trusty white family car. A hundred yards up the road there was a driveway into an acreage and then a crest of a hill with a sharp decline downward. I put full attention on the hill crest making sure I was well to the right because the road was narrow. This was at the location shown in the picture on the first page of this article. I didn't see that little 8"x10" sign "Private Property No Trespassing"

I told him what I did and asked him if he used the Internet because I said I like to do stories on things like houses and the way people live. He was decidedly unpleasant and told me that I was either blind or stupid to have missed the obvious sign decreeing his privacy. (For my age my eye sight isn't bad thanks to my glasses, as for being stupid, I think that had a part in this story. It should have been obvious to me the man was beyond reason and my vanity in thinking my cheerful smile and pleasant attempt at conversation would somehow charm him, was clearly plain old fashion stupidity) I tried to lighten the moment and made reference to
