Weekend to end breast cancer

Saturday
March 3, 2007
by : Cassandra Shire

The appeal to raise funds for breast cancer research is a powerfully motivating one as Cassandra reports her dedication to this June project to raise in one big fund raising event a substantial amount of money to go toward research into one of the leading killers of today.
Confounded by conventionality

Friday
March 2, 2007
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
No one would set out to be stupid, no one would set mediocrity as their goal, no one would try to drive with their eyes closed yet day after day we set about our tasks and demand that others do their work at the lowest performance level and attempting nothing more than status quo.
"the name Bank of Montreal wasn't an option"

Friday
March 2, 2007
by : Brian Marlatt
White Rock B.C.:
Small changes are perhaps more significant than big ones as they add up and incrementally alter the nature of things.
the lamb of 2007

Thursday
March 1, 2007
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale:
Warm temperatures, gentle sprinkle of snow and a thin overcast above, thin enough the fake outline of the sun to be seen, March 2007 has come in like a lamb.

Thursday
March 1, 2007
by : Gerald Crawford

The Parkland photo club is healthy to the point of being vigourous with twelve members and two guests at their February meeting dishing up tips and peer support in the quest for better pictures.

Thursday
March 1, 2007
by : Timothy W. Shire

All four movies mention on this front page of Ensign have good reviews and in Tisdale the Falkon Theatre is contributing receipts to the Tisdale Legacy fund. Here is a bit about each picture and if you click on the pictures you can read a review.

Wednesday
February 28, 2007

Sunday
February 25, 2007
by : Christine Whitaker
Edgeley :
The monster school systems act like they are examples of manufacturing companies in the private sector and ignore the fact that the cost of schools is, for a very large part, still paid for with local land taxes. Ms. Whitaker a former teacher explains the situation that affects all of Saskatchewan.
Maintaining balance is best for Canada

Sunday
February 25, 2007
by : Eugene Parks
Victoria, B.C. :
The descretionary powers of government were severely curtailed almost nine centuries ago yet the fight continues to maintain a balance of civility and human rights. The present government is showing itself lease competent of having any descretionary power. Security Certificates quashed by Supreme Court 9 - 0.

Reason not rhetoric necessary

Friday
February 23, 2007
by : Chris Schmurr
Windsor Ontario :
The news media has realised the public's concern over environmental issues and the politicians are scrambling to out green one another. This story points out the extremes of the politicians and the need for the public to demand some solid reasoning.
Is "a full debate in the House of Commons on the SPP" needed?

Friday
February 23, 2007
by : Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls :
Without public discussion and for the most part without even public awareness the process of turning North America into the United States of all North America is progressing. Should there be some public discussion on this process?

February 22, 2007

Government prepared to ignore
Wheat Board barley vote

Tuesday
February 20, 2007
by : Wendy Manson
Outlook :
The barley plebscite is heavily weighted to favour the government's American position to end the Canadian Wheat Board monopoly but the signals are already there that the minister of agriculture is prepared to ignore the results of the vote no matter what the outcome.
The Greenwater report

Monday
February 19, 2007
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park :
This week's report includes an outstanding sequence of pictures showing a mirage. Life at the park centres around coffee time at the beach cafe and snowmobiling. But, at the Crawford cabin its all about wildlife, birds, deer, rabbits and a great picture of a porcupine.
Why are the Harper's Quebec attack ads being continued?

Monday
February 19, 2007
by : Brad Thomson
Ottawa :
The Conservative attack ads on the Liberals and their leader will adversely affect federalism in Canada. The deliberate move by the government suggests a pretty nasty attitude toward our country.
