- Baffoon quality public discourse
- Friday
October 9, 2009
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria, British Columbia: Canada's present government seems fully bent upon serving itself and some of its supporters while the rest of Canada and especially minority Canadians are left to fend for themselves. What we have is a callous indifference to life.

- Thanksgiving a year after the collapse of the economic system
- Thursday
October 8, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: By the way, its okay just to look at the fall pictures. Today's story deals with the things we can be thankful for as this recession moves along. Some see it easing while so many people are unemployed it is going to be a while but the consequences of what the business and governments have done will last for decades and perhaps longer.

Rosthern: Perhaps the last weekend motor home trip of the year for Gerald and Doreen. There is no question that this way of spending the summer is perfect for the Crawfords as it allows them to get out and see things, visit with pictures and share their adventures with us all.

October 6, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Though three streets have or are in the process of being paved, Tisdale's streets are still in very poor condition and certainly the worst is Heritage Road which at times is just to rough for most cars and vans.

- Signs of hunting season
- Wednesday
September 30, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Late this afternoon there were a number of trucks loaded with or pulling trailers with ATVs aboard and that is a sure sign that its time for the moose to take cover and farmers ought to issue flak jackets to their cows and any horses worth protecting.

- The Greenwater report
- Monday
September 28, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Lake Provincial Park: The Crawfords were in heaven last weekend as they spent it at Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. Had meals at the Cove and golf course and coffee at the Cove and lunch in Perigord. You can tell it recharged their batteries as they soaked in the fall colours, the coffee row banter and the Rider football game.

- It was a really short summer
- Monday
September 28, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: With frost last night and perhaps tonight as well we are definitely long past summer and for many Saskatchewan farms still thousands of acres to go before this year's harvest is over. The signs of a cold summer are not only in the fields but everywhere you look. In the future forestry people will look at the small growth rings and point out that that was the summer of 2009.

- Tisdale Elementary goes on march
- Friday
September 25, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The whole school took to the streets in their annual walk. It was really a sight to behold with the entire street filled with happy smiling children. The staff and a good number of parent made the journey with the students and the brilliant sunshine and 22ºC temperatures made it the perfect weather for the outing.

Pleasantdale: The first story in Ensign about Pleasantdale was in June of 1998. It was time to revisit this pastural community and see it as it is now. So we have nine pictures of the community and though things have changed much remains the same.

- Kipabiskau Regional Park
- Monday
September 21, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Ensign was shut down this past week as we rebuilt and refurbished the office but today we visited one of Saskatchewan's most elegant regional parks. In many ways Kipabiskau rivals many of Saskatchewan's provincial parks with its upkeep and outstanding layout. Though we are getting into fall, Kipabiskau is still in summer. A remarkable cottage owner's paradise.

- The Greenwater report

September 21, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Watrous: We catch up on our motor home vagabonds as they spent a weekend and a little more at Manitou Regional Park at Watrous. Gerald obviously avoided the mineral brinny water the place is famous for as he didn't mention it once but we know he had a great time with their Sunseeker buddies.

Tisdale: Two major thoroughfares are being completely rebuilt as damage to these streets was so extensive resurfacing was not an option. The weather has not hampered the progress as the work is marching right along.
