Ensign Notes

.Happenings In Tisdale:

Forester Crescent powers up
Tuesday
October 9, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The pace of construction in Tisdale is relentless as most of the available lots in the NewMarket/Forester Crescent area have been built on and now its time for the rest of the crescent to be prepared for more new houses.
Crooked River in the fall of 2007
Thursday
October 4, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Crooked River: Some dramatic pictures from the small community east of Tisdale and some thoughts about the romance of rural life.
Not just a holiday
Wednesday
October 3, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Here are a set of pictures taken this afternoon and accompanying them is a simple Thanksgiving message.
An open letter to the Governor General of Canada
Wednesday
October 3, 2007
by: Robert Ede
Richmond Hill, Ontario: Last week the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister announced a sizeable surplus in the budget, some $14 billion. By carefully reading over the actual financial report and the tables that go with it Mr. Ede has discovered that the truth is far more restrained than reported. You need to look this story over carefully and check out the Financial report for yourself.
Sign of frustration
Wednesday
October 3, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: From time to time there are some funny signs posted in Tisdale, this one is in place of what normally would be a poster for next week's movie.
There's more to the Gagetown story
Tuesday
October 2, 2007
by: Kenneth H. Young
Nanaimo, B.C.: Last week Rebecca Gingrich voiced her disappointment with the government of Canada and its treatment of veterans who were affected with US spraying of agent orange. In this story we find out that this was just a part of a much larger and even more ridiculous situation as Ken Young points out it went on for 28 years and there needs to be consideration given for those affected other than in two specific years 66 and 67.
House seventeen
Tuesday
October 2, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The seventeenth new house this year is well underway as the foundation was poured this afternoon on NewMarket.
Ugly province, eh!
Tuesday
October 2, 2007
by: Ken Styan
Tisdale: Here are some images Ken Styan captured within an hour's drive of Tisdale over the past couple of days. Thanks Ken for sharing these with us.
Tisdale harvest in final stage
Monday
October 1, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Less than 15% remains to be done as the combines were cleaning up fields this afternoon.
The Greenwater report
Monday
October 1, 2007
by: Gerald Crawford
Greenwater lake Provincial Park: The Crawfords are back from Alberta and have time to fill us in on harvest between here and there. Its hunting season at Greenwater and though many of the leaves have blown away Gerald caught two nice pictures for us.
Tisdale Dehydration plant being dismantled
Friday
September 28, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Some portions of the old dehydration plant will be utiliised in the new ENSASK Biofuels ethanol plant but much of the old equipment is being taken down and shipped.
On again
Thursday
September 27, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Just as in the two previous fall harvest seasons we have had weather that prolongs the process in the extreme. Today with clearing skies and low humidity the combines are back in the fields and the on again off again harvest is on again.
St. Matthew's fall sale
Thursday
September 27, 2007
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: This sale is on for both Friday and Saturday morning and there will be lots of great bargains still available, besides you can have some coffee and a cookie. Except for the top picture there is a second picture for each picture, just move over each picture with your mouse to see the hidden image.
Small farm harvest
Wednesday
September 26, 2007
by: Matthew Shire
Gravelbourg: With the harvest at Tisdale stalled with more rain today we take you back to September 19th and a very small farm eight miles north of Gravelbourg. This is a photo essay that tells the story of getting the crop off as the day draws to a close.
"Equalization Promise Kept!!"
Tuesday
September 25, 2007
by: Henry Neufeld
Waldeck: The basic fundamental concept of the Canadian constitution was that natural resources revenues were to go to the provinces. No ifs, ands or buts. But the Conservative government claims it did the right thing by Saskatchewan and it just ain't true.
Camp Gagetown guinea pigs
Tuesday
September 25, 2007
by: Rebecca Gingrich
Princeton, Ontario: The government settlement or pay out to people exposed only in 1966 and 1967 is extremely low and people there are very unhappy. Not just because of the slight to them but because their government knowingly involved itself in chemical tested for giant US corporations.
