Tim's Tip of the Day

Kevin's find of the day

Global temperatures 'to decrease'
The affects of La Nina current in the Pacific are expected to continue into this summer resuling in lower temperature. Over all world temperatures have declined from 1998 to 2007.

Happenings In Tisdale:

  • Regional Drama Festival April 10 to 12 in the Maurice Taylor Performing Arts Threare

Anticipating a new building season
Monday
April 7, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Two vacant lots have had the snow removed in preparation for the digging of new basements as Tisdale is ready for another year of housing construction.
Tisdale Ramblers Trade Show 08
Friday
April 4, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: This year's trade show seemed more subdued and scaled back from other years. Many of the usual displays were not at this year's show and there was a light turn out Friday afternoon.
Tie quilting group wraps up another year
Thursday
April 3, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Thirty-five quilts have been produced in this year of cutting and piecing together projects that will be donated to various places.
Fat truck
Thursday
April 3, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Curious about an odd looking truck and the realisation that this is how waste cooking fat is collected for recycling.
Spring clouds
Wednesday
April 2, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Swift Current: With the passage of winter the sky changes and we once again get to see fair weather cumulus clouds and we also get to see surprise snow storms, the two don't always go together but it can happen.
From hockey arena to rodeo ring
Tuesday
April 1, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Each year in a matter of a couple of days the RECPlex arena in Tisdale is transformed from a hockey rink to a rodeo ring as the ice went out yesterday and the dirt hauled in and spread today the actual rodeo hardware was being put in place.
The Greenwater report
Monday
March 31, 2008
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: This week's report has some pictures of a garden show in Saskatoon and winter recreation at the park. The most important part of this week's report is Gerald's report on the problems with medical service even more compounded by interprovincial hospital services. This sort of difficulty needs to be considered very carefully especially in the light of concerns about poor communications between Medicine Hat and Calgary with the resulting death of a Leader man.
Busker in Tisdale
Monday
March 31, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: In the lightened spirit of spring a young man got out his guitar and a battery powered amplifier and began singing and playing on the main downtown street corner in the community.
Parkland Photography club March meeting
Saturday
March 29, 2008
by: Darlene McCullough
Tisdale: This month's theme was portraits and we have the top four images submitted. The club updated the group on various projects they have in the works. The next meeting is on April 22.
The Greenwater report
Friday
March 28, 2008
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: Gerald was at a car show and has contracted a cold but his sense of humour is still working and he has sent us a picture by Bill Gudjonson of a Lynx at the park.
The first day of spring
Thursday
March 20, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: We had cloud most of the day and there were few things that one could point to that suggested that this was the official first day of spring.
Bins for 2008
Wednesday
March 19, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Each spring the Beeland Co-op puts together its annual collection of new grain bins to meet the demand of the coming season. The process has begun once more as the new crop of metal monsters take shape on the Co-op lot on the west side of town.
Enough already
Tuesday
March 18, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Yesterday's by-election in four federal ridings really did little to clear the air and make way for some resolution to the pitiful performance of the country's loyal opposition who have a leader that has no hope and a prime minister with the least amount of charisma ever seen in anyone in elected political office. Voters its time for some kind of revolt.
The Greenwater report
Monday
March 17, 2008
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: Congratulations to Gerald and Doreen on their 55th wedding anniversary. They checked out a trade show and Gerald did a lot of visiting.

Friday
March 14, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: For the first time in the Tisdale AAA midget's team history their coach has been selected by the league as coach of the year and was presented with a trophy Thursday night in the second game of the semi-final league playoff game with Saaskatoon Blazers.
RESPs & TFSAs: Same effect, why only one attacked?
Friday
March 14, 2008
by: Larry Kazdan
Vancouver: Odd that both tax measures seem to have similar effects that the Minister of Finance has reacted so strongly to only one of these. Both measures are important to middle and higher income families and need to be considered as a means of reducing the tax burden.
Modern Science: climate change in science
Friday
March 14, 2008
by: Eugene Parks
Victoria: When scientists discuss things they publish their work to be commented and tested by their peers. The result is a process of moving toward an understanding of reality that will adapt to new information. This story explains the climate change discussion in that forum and the reference gives you a chance to check on the facts and figures as they are known.
