Pioneers of Rainbow Lake
Wednesday
January 14, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Rainbow Lake is an oil town in the far northwest corner of Alberta. The place went from being a camp to a town in 1967 and its school opened in 1968. People were transplanted from southern Alberta and parts of Calgary to the deep bush of this new oil field. Now those children in the picture above are looking for one another.

Tim's Tip of the Day

Kevin's find of the day

One Nation, under God. . . ?
Pravda is a Russian news agency and its take on the direction George Bush has taken America is very interesting. In this story the writer points out that the country has moved into the realm of a theocracy and is dominated by the military past and the same for Obama.

Happenings In Tisdale:

  • Wednesday, January 14, 8:00 Trojans play Prince Albert Mintos

Greenwater report
Tuesday

Do Harper's Conservatives "walk the line" or cross it?
Tuesday
January 13, 2009
by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls: The present government in Ottawa seems to find itself close to the line so much of the time that one wonders if they are not embracing the 'Dark Side.'
Music and art
Friday
January 9, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: You may think you are doing okay, understanding the essential things that you see about you each and every day but you and pretty much everyone else is living in an illusionary world. Seeing and hearing what you think not what is.
Little things mean a lot
Thursday
January 8, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Take the moon out of the picture and it is a pretty boring sky. That seems to be the way it is with a lot of things. Just a little detail or perhaps a comment that makes a huge difference in what we see and what we think.
Neumeier December player of the month
Wednesday
January 7, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Tuesday night there was a good crowd on hand to cheer on the Trojans against the Saskatoon Contacts. It was also time to recognise the achievements this past month of Mitch Neumeier who was pick player of the month and top scorer at the Mac Tournament in Calgary during the Christmas break.
Nice cup
Tuesday
January 6, 2009
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: The consumer driven throw away world we live in is starting to look like a pretty messy place and we need to question the economics of throwing stuff away, more to the point creating products designed for only one single use before discard. Not only is the conomics a bit fuzzy but the common sense just isn't there.
This is going to be fun
MOnday
January 5, 2009

The Greenwater report
MOnday
January 5, 2009
by: Gerald Crawford
Saskatoon: We catch up on the holiday celebrations and Gerald brings a number of passings to our attention. Weather affects everyone and these low temperatures make the city bus system look like an attractive alternative to venturing out with a car.
New Years predications for 2009
Wednesday
December 31, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Its up to you how you enjoy or grump about 2009, times are expected to be tough and getting worse but we will have to endure what ever comes our way. The details are unpleasant but this is how it looks for the year to come.

Wednesday
December 31, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire

This year's going to be tough
Tuesday
December 30, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Each year, long before Ensign and since I have set to work and put down my predictions for the coming year. This year that event will take place tomorrow, New Year's Eve. Then I will bite the bullet mulling through the entrails of this past year and put down in print what I think will happen in a year that is totally beyond anything in my lifetime.
