- Wednesday
May 28, 2008
by: Alex Bussmann
Kirkland, Washington: The ACTA was initiated by the United States in October of 2007 and negotiated with the Conservative government of Canada since then. Since it is a trade agreement it will never come before parliament and could result in the police deciding what you have stolen and have on your iPod or computer system.

- Making us look like fools
- Monday
May 26, 2008
by: Tom Brewer
Regina: External Affairs minister Bernier, who resigned today, while in Rome last week promised the use of a C-17 to move helicopters from the Ukraine to Burma. One is in Afghanistan two are laid up for maintenance and the fourth is broken down in Burma. It cost $900,000 to get a Russian plane to do the job. The useless C-17s cost us $3.5 Billion.
|
- This year's crop emerging
- Friday
May 23, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: While I wait impatiently for the leaves to come out once more on the trees there is grass growing in the back yard and I am going to have to mow the stuff before next Friday. Out in the farm fields the story is the same, the trees are just starting to get their act together but there is a solid green tinge to the fields as those who have not sprayed get a new crop of weeds but in other fields the green is this year's crop.
|
- Where does Mr. Harper stand on the issue of free speech?
- Friday
May 23, 2008
by: Rebecca Gingrich
Princeton Ontario: A private members bill is before parliament to pretty much shut down the Canadian Human Rights Commission and it would appear that Ms. Gingrich shares that opionion as she feels to many trivial cases are brought by the commission to further its own power.

|
- Bike safety week
- Thursday
May 15, 2008
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Just like the first few weeks of winter when we all have to learn to drive again each spring those on two wheels, adults and children alike have to learn all over again that being on a bicycle can be a truly dangerous thing unless you follow the rules of the road. Today's picture was not staged that's what Tisdale drivers have to cope with and it is only a matter of time until a cyclist becomes a statistic.

- Canada First on errands of mercy?
- Wednesday
May 14, 2008

- Wednesday
May 14, 2008
by: Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls Ontario: The Prime Minister pronouncement on national defence is simply not in the national interest. None of these elements were mentioned in his speech in Halifax.
