Golburn
- Tuesday
November 11, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Once every road allowance, one mile apart East
and West and every two miles North and South was actually a road but with the consolidation
of farms many roads have once again become fields. While following some roads today
we came upon a village that was like these over grown road allowances, a community
that once was. This story includes a QuickTime Virtual Reality panorama
of the area near the Golburn School and fairgrounds site.

They Served
- Monday
November 10, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: They went to war some have gone to make peace
but one way or another they have placed the needs of the country and the people of
this country above their own survival. Some died doing their duty and others have
lived on since their conflict but their lives have changed and their service has
made a difference for each of us.

Tim's Tip of the Day
|
No matter how missplaced the efforts of the United States in its inappropriate aggression
in Iraq we must extend to the over three hundred American families and all the friends
of those lost in this conflict, as well as the more than 9,000 Iraqis and their families
who have lost their lives to please the United States' political objectives, our
heartfelt sympathy and shared sadness for this loss. |
Kevin's find of the day
|
Can't Believe You Made It! This
unusal page on a private website by Ayesha (AKA Frenchy) describes the way most of
us have grown up surviving despite the amazing range of safety creations that have
become part of every child's life today. |

- Two flies go to
A&W first Anniversary
- Friday
November 7. 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: Bright sunlight poured into the
little Tisdale A&W today as it celebrated its first anniversary. This business
has certainly made its mark on the community and continues to develop its local roots.

- The latest on Bush's economic exports:
war and democracy
- Friday
November 7, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
Nipawin: Congress and Senate have approved the $87.5
billion in funds to rebuild Iraq as American corporations harvest the profits from
the process and the US president is now talking as though he wants to do the same
thing for China.

- Progressive Conservatives
call for democratic vote
- Thursday
November 6, 2003
by: John Herron
Ottawa: The vote to merge the Progressive Conservative
party with the Canadian Alliance appears not to be so universally accepted as the
advertisements might suggest. This press release indicates a deep and serious rift
within Tory ranks.

- No Fault (Tort Reform) Auto Insurance
in Canada: Hypocritical regulations to appease the Free Market
- Thursday
November 6, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
Nipawin: Ontario and Alberta have private insurance,
astronomical rates and governments determined to reduce coverage to protect the motorist
from high rates and the insurance companies from their own investment stupidity,
so much for the natural consequences of the free market.

- St. Annes des
Chenes
- Wednesday
November 5, 2003
by: Lauren McCallum
St. Annes des Chenes: A historical community in Southeastern
Manitoba, one of the first European settlements on the Western prairies and the area
from which Saskatchewan's Francophone communities evolved. This story tells us about
the historical church in the small rural community now badly in need of restoration
in an effort to preserve the history of a significant contributor to the history
of Western Canada.

- Anti-Sweatshop
Movement Provides Needed Counterweight in the Global Economy
- Wednesday
November 5, 2003
by: Mark Weisbrot
Washington, D.C.: The recent accusations that Rap performer "P" Diddy is
using a 368 employee sweatshop in Choloma Honduras to produce his signature clothing.
This brings the issue of corporations exploiting with impunity the poor of the world
for manufacturing.

- The way we were
- Tuesday
November 4, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale: I was walking through a store when I spotted
that picture, just a picture of a city with its skyscrapers then I realised when
it was taken and from where it was taken and what has happened since that moment
in time.

- Mr. Hermanson
stuck to his party line
- Tuesday
November 4, 2003
by: Stu Innes
Regina: This is a rebuttal to the story posted last
week dealing with the leaders Televised debate. We regret that a second message was
received but can not be posted as it was lost in an accident with Email.

- Michel Chossudovsky discerns the trees
from the forest: The state is financing its own indebtedness
- Tuessday
November 4, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
Nipawin: A loop develops whereby the financial industry and industry itself begins
to hold the debt of the government and so holds the governmental structures accountable
to their interests. This twist in democracy explains the politicians inclination
to serve business rather than voters.

by: Gerald Crawford
