Tim's Tip of the Day

The facts of life are that we are all doomed, face it and accept the inevitable but while there is still time make the best of the life and abilities you have. The light you shine will warm others.

Ensign Notes

Summer holidays: That's right, 2003 is the first year since 1991 that we have had a chance to take a holiday. During June, July and the first two weeks of August we will have some intermittant days when Ensign will not post. Our plan is to do some tripping and camping here in Saskatchewan. Today were were touring the Weekes area.

The militaristic and statistical tools of corporative marketeers: the sacking and the sapping of the Fair Market
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
It appears as though the war in Iraq was planned long before 9-11 as Vice President of the United States company, Halliburton, had been given contracts for work there after the expected war. As in other stories like this we present you with a summary of the story with the details in the references.

Well drilling is one of man's ancient struggles. Today we get a glimpse of the process as a large diameter well is dug South of Tisdale.

An unusual discovered of a couple of vintage cars parked side by side on an abandoned farm.

Wascana Geese
Tuesday, June 3, 2003
by: Ole Loberg
We all know that Canada geese are social beings and we have observed how they live in pairs and feed alternately so one feeds the other stands guard, now we discover that their ability to work together far exceeds what one would expect of an animal with the brain the size of a walnut.

Populism
Monday, June 2, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
This story discusses the roots of Saskatchewan politics which seems to be a total void in understanding by press and media people and also a huge number of right wing politicians.

The Greenwater Report

by: Gerald Crawford
The computer is fixed, as Gerald photographed the Relay for hope and warns us of wildlife on the roads around the park.

Relay for life -$186,000
Saturday, May 31, 2003
by Timothy W. Shire
One of the largest events in Saskatchewan as over 300 survivors and more than a thousand others spend the night as they raise an unprecidented amount of money for Cancer research. This is a very large story with two QuickTime VR pictures and a large page to access the pictures taken at this remarkable community activity.

The New World Order of Bush&Co.: The intersection of government, business, military and lies
Saturday, May 31, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
This short story is in actual fact a summary of a wide range of material that Mr. deSantis has compiled. Its like hearing only the punch line of a joke, it won't mean that much to you unless you check out the powerful references that are listed at the bottom of the story.

The US president has just appointed an advisor who is committed to the concept that a greater inequity in income is good for the economy. The story and its references illustrates the economic basis for this kind of thinking.
