Tim's Tip of the Day

Missed it when it was showing in theatres so we rented the last James Bond Movie, "To die another day", it has a couple of outstanding scenes but is absolutely the worst Bond movie of all time.

Ensign Notes

Summer holidays: That's right, 2003 is the first year since 1991 that we have had a chance to take a holiday. During June, July and the first two weeks of August we will have some intermittant days when Ensign will not post. Our plan is to do some tripping and camping here in Saskatchewan.

Bush&Co's Public Policies: The Privatization of Justice and Peace
Saturday, June 7, 2003
by: Mario deSatnis
This story and its references discuss the growing awareness by Americans that their leadership have been misleading them and have been doing so for reasons that are pretty much "the American way" while other and much more serious issues have been ignored.

British Columbia privatizes the Coquihalla Highway
Saturday, June 7, 2003
by: Mike Townsend
British Columbia has decided to sell or lease its only toll road to raise money. It is not a popular decision but British Columbia has a rather goofy way of doing things and outside of the province this does not seem to be surprising.

Tree replacement
Friday, June 6, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
A tree was in a vehicle accident this winter and today it was time for it to be replaced.

Roads not taken
Thursday, June 5, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Given enough time and sufficient roads I have always seemed to have been able to find a road that will get my vehicle stuck. But today I only show you the roads I didn't take and drove on. Fifteen pictures.

Golburn Valley Oilmill
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Family business munches and crunches oilseeds for fun and profit.

The militaristic and statistical tools of corporative marketeers: the sacking and the sapping of the Fair Market
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Mario deSantis
It appears as though the war in Iraq was planned long before 9-11 as Vice President of the United States company, Halliburton, had been given contracts for work there after the expected war. As in other stories like this we present you with a summary of the story with the details in the references.

House number three rising
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
The walls are up and the new house has taken shape offering what amounts to a two story house.

Some holes are bigger than others
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
The town crew keeps fixing them, one after another, today by the park, tomorrow on 95th and Friday by the hospital.

Some holes are deeper than others
Wednesday, June 4, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Well drilling is one of man's ancient struggles. Today we get a glimpse of the process as a large diameter well is dug South of Tisdale.

Farmyard of the past
Tuesday, June 3, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
Here is another farm yard now no longer the home to any person but left behind as a remnant of what once was, horse barn and all.

Nest of birds
Tuesday, June 3, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
An unusual discovered of a couple of vintage cars parked side by side on an abandoned farm.

Wascana Geese
Tuesday, June 3, 2003
by: Ole Loberg
We all know that Canada geese are social beings and we have observed how they live in pairs and feed alternately so one feeds the other stands guard, now we discover that their ability to work together far exceeds what one would expect of an animal with the brain the size of a walnut.

Populism
Monday, June 2, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
This story discusses the roots of Saskatchewan politics which seems to be a total void in understanding by press and media people and also a huge number of right wing politicians.

The Greenwater Report
Monday, June 2, 2003
by: Gerald Crawford
The computer is fixed, as Gerald photographed the Relay for hope and warns us of wildlife on the roads around the park.

Greenland 2003
Sunday, June 1, 2003
by: Timothy W. Shire
