Tim's Tip of the Day

Our daily bread, yes indeed! Like most towns Tisdale's, size we have an outstanding local bakery. Patries, buns, breads, cakes and pies are standard fare and in addition Zoerbe's is where you get a "BeeSting!"

Kevin's find of the day

Fake Saudi princess-model countersues American Express This AP story carried by CBS is one of several about the 40 year old Lisa Walker, known as Antoinette Millard who was a triplet born in Buffalo. She is in a bit of trouble for a series of impersonation crimes and owes more than $262,000.

Ensign Notes

If you check back through the years in Ensign you will discover that most years we are already snow covered and into deep winter by this date in November.

Tisdale Calendar
of Events

A perception of the disorder in the New World Order: Canadian health care, the falling American dollar, universitiesí independence
Friday
November 26, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert : Though Canada's health care system, the falling American dollar and the reliance of Canadian universities upon money from private business seem to be completely different topics Mr. deSantis is pointing out that this is our world and we have to accept responsibility for thinking things through and we need to object when the appropriate compromise between "need and greed" goes unchecked. This story needs some careful consideration and you will have to refer to the references to grasp the complexities of these inter-related issues.
"I must go down to the seas again"
Thursday
November 25, 2004
by : Ken Jones and John Masefield
Nova Scotia : When I studied John Masefield's "Sea Fever" in high school it was quaint and the words interesting but it really meant nothing until two days ago when Ken Jones sent me these amazing pictures of the Atlantic off the coast of Nova Scotia taken in late October of this year.
Curbing Crib Death
Thursday
November 25, 2004
by : Bev Currie
Swift Current : New Zealand claims to have ended the scurge of Crib Death, the leading cause of death to infants in Canada. The remarkable story and its references suggest a really simple and inexpensive preventative measure to a killer.
Trojans take Blazers 3 - 2
Wednesday
November 24
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Tuesday night the fans at the RECPlex were treated to an exceptional low scoring hockey game as the Saskatoon Blazer who are in second place in the league met their match and then some, in a 3 -2 victory for the hard skating Trojan squad.
Greenspan Hits the Trifecta: Dollar's Decline Inevitable
Wednesday
November 24, 2004
by : Mark Weisbrot
Washington : Like selecting the win, place and show positions in a horse race the United States treasury official has let the word out, this can't go on.

Black Capped Chickadee: Poecile atricapilla
Tuesday
November 23, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : These all year round residents, who are remarkably monogamous make their homes from coast to coast across North America and as you can see sometimes eat upside down.
How anti-American is she, really?
Tuesday
November 23, 2004
by : Marjaleena Repo
Saskatoon : Though the news and her former party leader have tried to paint this Missassauga member of parliament as a loud mouth who does not think through what she is saying, this is perhaps a biased opinion, as she may well be telling people what they don't want to hear.
Three and three-quarter more years, Three and three-quarter more years, Three and three-quarter more years
Tuesday
November 23, 2004
By : Timothy W. Shire & Edwin Wallace
Tisdale : Ralph Klein won again to no surprise to anyone. He has a majority of 3:1 of his opposition but Alberta papers consider his victory a loss. Go figure. What is even more interesting as one of Canada's most economically important provinces, the provincial election was not reported in any detail in most Eastern Canadian newspapers.
Tisdale's First Annual Toy and Model Show
Monday
November 22, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Some show, Saturday visitors to the Golden Age Centre were treated to an amazing display of diecast agricultural models, scratch built farm models, and a variety of other collections and models.
The Greenwater Report
Monday
November 22, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : All is quiet out at the park as folks get together in each other's homes with the Cove still closed. This week Gerald tells us about the Bjorkdale craft fair and turkey shoot.
The widespread injustice of the LOGIC OF POWER: From the United States to Canada to Saskatchewan
Monday
November 22, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert : The law of the jungle seems hardly appropriate in a time such as our own and French President Jacque Chirac and member of parliament Carolyn Parrish are on the record denouncing the might makes right folks.
It's Thursday, join me for breakfast
Thursday
November 18, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Each Thursday morning I go out for breakfast, I have been doing this for several years now. This morning I was a bit earlier than usual and there were very few people around so I took a few pictures so that you can get a feel for the scene.
On this rock I once built a church
Thursday
November 18, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Kelso : Kelso's United Church has been taken down but all that it really was lives on in the minds and memories of the clans who called Kelso their place.
The Greenwater Report
Wednesday
November 17, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : Off on a trip to yankeeland to take in Rushmore and the hills but as always its back home to share with us the sights and situations in Saskatchewan.
House number 7
Wednesday
November 17, 2004
by: Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Yet another new house was launched this morning leaving only one empty, but sold, lot west of the Golden Age Centre.
Tisdale Web Site
Wednesday
November 17, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : The updating of a web site is a project that goes on and on and on. If you have some ideas for the Town of Tisdale web site send them along and the editor of this site will pass them along to see if your idea can be worked into the site.
The Greenwater Report
Saturday
November 13, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : Sorry about posting this story a week late but here is the news of the folks met at a craft show, the story of a cradle and out of season willow puff balls.
The myth of freedom by focusing on higher GDP numbers: The case of the Iraq war
Saturday
November 13, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert : The excuses for waging war seem pretty trivial in all wars when weighed against the loss of human life. This past week the battle for Fallujah against Iraqi resistance fighters seems only another page in the continuing shambles that is American foreign policy.
A week of Ups and Downs
Friday
November 12, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : No calamities, no serious problems, just a series of events that confused and obstructed the normal flow of things.
Tisdale Trojans go down to defeat 5 - 2 aganist the Saskatoon Contacts
Sunday
November 7, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Saturday night and the Trojans lay down their second defeat in a row with exactly the same score. (unfortunately this story was never completed)
