- Better April 16 than June
6th
- Tuesday
April 20, 2004
by : Joe Hueglin
Niagara Falls : The Prime Minister visited Camp Gagetown
in New Brunswick, the first prime minister ever to visit this army base and in his
speech last Wednesday he made a mistake, his printed speech had the word Normandy
in it twice but twice he said Norway. We are used to the American leader making gaffs
like this but in Canada we expect more of our leaders especially a man in his sixties
seeking election this year.

Tim's Tip of the Day
|
Most of the experiences before a child reaches age four
are lost to his or her conscious memory but the emotions and awareness of being loved
and being given care and attention are permanently imprinted on both child and parent.
"I can't remember, but it was good." |
Kevin's find of the day
|
McDonald's CEO Dies of Heart
Attack (PDF) This Reuter story tells of the death of the 60 year old
head of the huge restaurant chain who came back to work when the company registered
its first ever loss. Under his leadership the company has since its shares rise 10.6%
this year. |
Ensign Notes
|
I should have realised before I even began the process that doing up 66 houses would
take all night and it did, so at 3:30 I went to bed and finished today, sorry about
that. |

- The Greenwater Report
- Tuesday
April 20, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : Spring has been taking its time but things have been
busy with auction sales, a 15th anniversary of a business and a new grand opening
in Naicam. Meanwhile the birds are still around the feeder and the sandhill cranes
have taken over the countryside.

- The Iraq war is
not right, people die in vain, and Bush is the real evil
- Thursday
April 15, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Nipawin : The recent Bush press conference was intended
to put the president in the active leadership role as the commission investigating
9/11 hearing grip the news. What the conference did was reveal the fuzzy and perhaps
quite lost thinking of the American president while the latest offensive by Iraqi
resistence has moved to a new phase by holding cities but also taking mercenaries
as hostages.

- Gentle as a lamb
- Wednesday
April 14, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Of all domestic animals, sheep have been of
constant service to humans for ages and it would be wise of us to think about their
continuing contribution.

On February 29, 2004 we posted a story about a college student being caught by RBC's
hard sell disability insurance programme where he paid for coverage he did not want
and could not collect on. This story tells of a person who took the insurance and
his wife was diagnosed with cancer and the company said that it was a pre-existing

Bottom Of The Page Picture
of the Day
|
A few minutes before the year's first thundershower I went to catch a picture of
the clouds
and this set of cruisers went by. Roller blades have to be one of the great achievements
of this era.
(By the way the shower gave us only about 2/10ths)
