Tim's Tip of the Day
|
It has been a tough summer to be in the
market garden business but now the best produce is available. Today's farmer's market
(every Tuesday morning in Tisdale, Thursday in Melfort) was outstanding with great
stuff including outstanding saskatoons and preserves. Don't miss it next week. |

Cement shortage hits US housing boom
(pdf) This Christian Science Monitor story
explains an unusual problem. It appears
that China's growth is reducing its export of cement and that in turn has created
a shortage of the stuff in the United States. To make matters worse the transportation
system is busy hauling stuff to Iraq and slowing shipment. The article does not explain
that the United States created its own problem by putting an embargo on Mexican cement
and has been relying on cheap Chinese material without expanding its own production. |
