Tisdale : Thursday afternoon the G5 arrived and for the rest of the day and Friday it was time to transfer data and install applications. Saturday is the first full day of operations and it has been interesting. 8 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 21 inches tall and weighing in at several tonnes this is the biggest computer I have ever seen but its bigness is not physical, this thing is a weapon.

Tim's Tip of the Day

Here's a tip that can save you a lot of cleaning. To prevent your Christmas tree from dropping its needles, don't put your tree up until Christmas time.

Kevin's find of the day

From rags to riches to rags Jason Warick of Saskatchewan News Network gives us an lengthy interview with Jeff Clark of Moose Jaw a potash miner who won the 6/49 not just once but twice and is now flat broke.

of Events

Centre Piece
Saturday
December 18, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Weekes : Pauline Lindenbach of Weekes puts these marvels together year round but these Christmas arrangements are really special.
In your face
Wednesday
December 15, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : The reliability of voice over IP (telephone on the Internet) has come of age with AOL's messenger and Apple's iChat. Years ago we tried the idea out but now it is a practical everyday means of communication and it just makes sense to move to the next level with a dedicated web cam for that purpose.
On its way! Corporate-controlled, profit-maximizing, farmer-restricting system
Tuesday
December 15, 2004
by: Joyce Neufeld
Waldeck : The major varietys of wheat and barley were developed by government researchers and university programmes but in the last three decades government has decided to turn over the agricultural industry to the massive corporations. Now they will call the shots at $15 an acre in perpetuity.
Trojans do Charity breakfast
Tuesday
December 14, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire

Tisdale : Saturday morning the whole Tisdale Trojan team were on hand at the Beeland Co-op cafeteria serving pancakes and sausage to a full house as part of their annual charity work in their community.
Bush evoking World War II
Tuesday
December 14, 2004
by : David Orchard
Borden : Mr. Orchard explains the complete silliness of the American president's reference to Mackenzie Kings statements during World War II. It make us all shudder to realise the remarkable lack of awareness that is so much a part of the leader of the the world's most aggressive and heavily armed nation.
CIA Documents Cast New Light on Washington's Role in Venezuela
Tuesday
December 14, 2004
by : Mark Weisbrot
Washington ; This story is one of those confirmations of what most non-Americans expected, In fact for the past five decades this is the standard behaviour of the United States of America, its only a surprise to its citizens.
The Greenwater Report
Tuesday
December 14, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : The ice fishing season may have begun and there is enough snow at the park for some snow mobiling. Jenny is taking part in the Breast Cancer snowmobile marathon ride and you can pitch into that project.
House Cleaning
Thursday
December 9, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Yesterday was the last day of this house's life as it was destroyed today. One was crunched Saturday and another will be dust tomorrow as lots are cleared to make way for new houses in established neighbourhoods.
Nuclear Power is not safe, it is not clean, it is not economical
Thursday
December 9, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert : Emotions run very high about this topic but we need to step back from the noise and check the facts. The proponents of this industry gloss over the glaring and utterly overwhelming dangers of the past, all of which avoided the ultimate disaste,r which is not just possible, but is inevitable.
A New Dawn for the Uranium Business in Saskatchewan: Don Ching, President and CEO of Cogema Resources
Wednesday
December 8, 2004
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert : Saskatoon lawyer, Don Ching moves from the Saskatchewan Crown corporation, SaskTel, to become the CEO of a French government operation Cogema, one of the large uranium mining companies in the province.
The Greenwater Report
Tuesday
December 7, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : Gerald brings us up to date on the silence of winter on the Park and a few of his expeditions to Saskatoon and Archerwill. We get an update on the lake's ice conditions and three amazing images of Saskatchewan elevators when they were actually operational.
The other side of the Elmasry Affair
Tuesday
December 7, 2004
by : Marjaleena Repo
Saskatoon : A Toronto "Christian" talk show host set up a controversial debate that allowed the reasonable and anti-violent leader of Canada's Islamic Congress to explain why Palastinian terrorism takes the form it does then was castigated for his explanation.
Beardy's Blackhawks defeated by Trojans 5 to 1
Friday
December 3, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Tisdale Trojans are now firming in control of second place in the "AAA" midget league in Saskatchewan as they delivered a solid win to their faithful fans Thursday night at the RECPlex.
Next Year
Thursday
December 2, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : With the arrival of winter the crop year of 2004 is now behind us and there is no other course of action than to consider the prospects for the coming year. Worthless crops remain in the fields and worthless grain in storage while even more worthless cattle continue to eat up abundant feed that even though cheap, will not yield and a net return.
Its here again
Tuesday
November 30, 2004
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale : Alas its time once more to shovel off the drive way, clear the sidewalk, make sure the shovel is in the trunk of the car and put that extra set of keys in your pocket so you can get in when you luck the keys inside with it running.
The Greenwater Report
Tuesday
November 30, 2004
by : Gerald Crawford
Greenwater Provincial Park : Last week Gerald told us how people were interested in buying pictures of elevators so this week his report is accompanied by four super elevator pictures.
