Ensign Notes

.Happenings In Tisdale:

We have to talk about it

Thursday
September 14, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
The attack at Dawson College in Montreal is remote to our lives here in Tisdale, or is that the case? Radio, televsion and the news papers all have focused on this event today and at coffee it was the topic of conversation for all. Let us examine why we need to talk about an incident like this and what is gossip anyway?
There is no such thing as a war on terrorism

Wednesday
September 13, 2006
by : Mario deSantis
Prince Albert :
Five years since the 9/11 attack and the world is still shuddering from the event. Today Mario deSantis returns to this web site to give us some insight into the misleading language that is intended to mask the actions that have been taken in the intervening years.
House number six gets underway

Tuesday
September 12, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
With a fair number of houses on the market the number of housing starts in Tisdale has been a little slower than usual this year but today number six had its foundation poured.
There is no such thing as limited war

Monday
September 11, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
What happened five years ago will be discussed for perhaps another hundred years and the response to what happened is changing the attitudes and the concepts all people have about conflict, big or small. Today we discuss this change and try to deal with what we are now accepting as appropriate behaviour.
Afghanistan

Monday
September 11, 2006
by : Bev Currie
Swift Current :
Here is a very simple but also very convincing argument in favour of an immediate withdrawal of Canadian Forces from Afghanistan.
Water Treatment Plant making progress

Friday
September 8, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
Not the kind of spectacular project that was anticipated the buidling of the new water treatment plant has been a limited skilled tradesman affair that has just ambled along out there behind the trees.
Bravado, Bluff or Blarney? Reform-Party Policy Visits the Senate Committee

Friday
September 8, 2006
by : Robert Ede
Thornhill, Ontario :
Prime Minister Harper and his former Reform/Alliance government seem to have a very poor understanding of both the present constitution and how changes might correctly be made to the system. Mr. Ede attempts to set them straight on the finer points of Canadian constitutional law.

Tisdale :
The trees are once again turning colour, here are some pictures of the process and some thoughts on what it could mean to us.
Big Truck: Perkins

Thursday
September 7, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
images by : T. shire & Jo Lukinchuk
Tisdale :
To us this 94 wheelled giant is a remarkable sight but it is just everyday stuff for the Northfield Minnesota trucking company. This sort of thing is what Perkins does, in a rather big way.
Taste, touch, sight, sound. . .

Wednesday
September 6, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
Reality, even awareness, taxes the very limits of our senses, each step forward in science and in art reveal vast new concepts we had never ever considered before.
Busy little intersection: part 2

Tuesday
September 5, 2006
by : Shawn Ratushniak
video by: T. Shire

Tisdale :
And then some, Shawn works within constant sight of the junction of the two highways and jotted down notes on the traffic one day, this will surprise you. This story also includes another ten minutes of corner traffic condensed to thirty seconds.
Busy little intersection

Monday
September 4, 2006
by : Timothy W. Shire
Tisdale :
While waiting to catch a moving picture of a big truck I shot a short ten minute video of the intersection of highways 3 and 35. That video is pretty revealing and is part of this story.
